Departing Inverness at 7.45am we head down the Great Glen towards Loch Ness. Stopping briefly at Urquhart Castle you will have an opportunity to take some photos of the iconic castle which sits on a promontory overlooking the World Famous Loch Ness.
Continuing along Loch Ness side we reach Invermoriston where we turn West heading towards The Isle of Skye. Climbing up towards Loch Cluanie we pass through the Mountains of Kintail and if it is a clear day you will see the peaks of the 5 Sisters of Kintail.
Heading down through Glen Sheil we reach Loch Duich and at the end of Loch Duich we make our second stop of the day at Eilean Donan Castle, we stop here for 20 minutes for a photo opportunity and rest room break.

The Stunning Fairy Pools
We pass through Kyle of Lochalsh before crossing the Skye bridge to the Isle of Skye, while our driver will tell you the legend of Saucy Mary. Continuing on through Skye we pass through Sligachan and head towards Dunvegan before taking the road to Glenbrittle which leads to the Fairy Pools.
It will take you approximately 20 minutes to walk to the beginning of the The Pools. The beautiful rock pools and waterfalls are famed for their crystal clear blue waters, and their stunning Cuillin mountain backdrop. We will spend around 75 minutes here, to give you plenty of time to enjoy this wonderful sight.
Local legend tells us that Selkies (seal-like creatures) are supposed to have shed their seal skin and taken human appearance to bathe in these pools by the moonlight.
Following your hike at The Fairy Pools we head to Portree, the largest town on the Isle of Skye which has a pretty little harbour with its multi coloured buildings , we stop here for 45 minutes which will give you an opportunity to grab some lunch.
The Magical Fairy Glen
Heading North from Portree up the west side of the Trotternish Peninsula we visit the Fairy Glen where you will have an opportunity for a short walk.
The Fairy Glen is an amazing landscape with its little conical Hillocks which some locals call the Fairy Houses. At the top of the glen is Castle Ewen – the Fairy Castle.
We will drop you at the top end of the Glen and you can walk back to the car park to meet the van (20 minutes).
Leaving The Fairy Glen behind, we drive up to the top of Uig where you get an excellent view of Idrigil Bay.

Continuing on we cross across the top of the Trotternish Ridge until we come to the Quiraing , the views from here on a clear day are magnificent , we stop here for 15 minutes.
Coming down on the East side of the ridge from the Quiraing we pass through the little town of Staffin.
Our next stop is Kilt Rock and Mealt Falls. Kilt Rock got its name because the exposed basalt rock columns resemble the pleats of a kilt. Mealt Falls is the waterfall that drops 180 feet into the Sound of Raasay.
Keep a lookout here for dolphins and whales, which are sometimes seen in the sound.
Our final stop on The Trotternish ridge is the Old Man of Storr. The Old Man of Storr is a 160 foot high rock pinnacle on Storr Mountain. We stop for 10 minutes at a little parking spot where you get the best view of the Old Man. This location has been used in a number of feature films, most notably the Wicker Man.
Our last stop is at the Skye Candle Visitor Centre for a rest room break before we start our journey back towards Inverness.
